Here is a good old-fashioned wood craft birdhouse by SparkJump. This one is a great woodworking project for kids because it’s easy and quick, and it takes only 20 mins to put together, which makes it a great first project.
The wood is my favorite thing about this birdhouse. The birdhouse is made of solid cedar and oak perch. We didn’t bother painting it because the finish is beautiful, and the birds seem to like it.
All I did was give it a light sanding. The paint is good quality if you choose to use it. I think a dark stain would also look nice. SparkJump makes some of my favorite products because they tend to last for a long time.
The birdhouse holds up for years with proper care. We’ve had ours for about two years now. I recommend using a glue gun to help hold it together. It also speeds up the process.
